Corneal Transplant

A cornea transplant is a surgery where a damaged or unhealthy cornea is replaced with a healthy one from a human donor. The cornea is the clear, dome-shaped front part of the eye that helps you see by focusing light. When the cornea is damaged or diseased, it can cause blurry or poor vision. A cornea transplant can often restore clear vision by replacing the damaged cornea with a healthy one.

Penetrating Keratoplasty (PK)

A full-thickness cornea transplant where the entire cornea is replaced with a healthy donor cornea. It is indicated in cases of severe cornea scarring, infection, or certain keratoconus cases.

Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK or DMEK)

An advanced partial-thickness cornea transplant focused on replacing the innermost layer of the cornea (the endothelium) while keeping the outer layers of the cornea intact. It is indicated for conditions affecting the endothelium, such as Fuch's dystrophy.

Pterygium

A pterygium is a growth of tissue that starts on the white part of the eye and can extend onto the cornea, which is the clear front part of the eye. It often looks like a small, fleshy bump and can be caused by long-term exposure to sunlight, wind, or dust. While a pterygium is usually harmless, it can sometimes cause discomfort, redness, or affect your vision if it grows too large. During the surgery, the pterygium is carefully removed and the area is covered with a graft to help prevent it from coming back.

REFRACTIVE LENS EXCHANGE

Refractive lens exchange (RLE) is a procedure where the natural lens of your eye is removed and replaced with an artificial lens to improve your vision. It's similar to cataract surgery but is done primarily to correct vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism rather than to treat cataracts. The new lens can help reduce or eliminate your need for glasses or contact lenses. RLE is typically recommended for people who aren't good candidates for laser vision correction like LASIK. The procedure is quick, and most people recover within a few days, experiencing clearer vision soon after.
